Formula 1 in Abu Dhabi

by Supercarperhour

After red Bull had won the driver - and constructor - championship for the fourth time in a row at the Indian Grand Prix, David Coulthard celebrated in Abu Dhabi by showing off a donut 210 m above ground at the Burj Al Arab helipad, a luxury hotel in Dubai.

The first official race on the Formula One calendar took place at the Yas Marina Circuit in 2009. The race, considered the largest gathering of Formula One drivers and cars, is the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and part of the Abu Dhabi F1 Festival. An exciting race that offers the fans entertainment at its best.

Fans are also aflie to the return of the Yasalam concert after the race which was cancelled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic and four superstar artists and bands have been announced for this year. This year's race weekend will take place from 9 to 12 December at Yas Island, with the big final race of the season on Sunday.

Despite the uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic and the huge disruption to Sport 2020 plans, the first half of the year was a unique Formula One season, with a few years ahead of others and some nearing completion. Formula One wanted to compete in 15 to 18 races in its 2020 season and is aiming for success. The governing body released an update in July with 17 races due to be completed in mid-December.

Final act took place at the futuristic Yas Marina Circuit as Formula One ended the race for the seventh year in a row, this time with the final season ending after 57 years on December 13. The Yas Marina Circuit, which has hosted the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix for the past 11 years, looked a little different in the race, with organisers reshaping parts of the circuit to encourage overtaking and end the year on a high note.

Since 2014, the Yas Marina Circuit has been the venue for the Formula One season finale, where the final of the first two appearances on the calendar took place in 2009 and 2010. This year's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will be held at a new track layout in Yas Marina Circuit and will unveil a number of changes to the circuit to improve the race on the track. The plans have been approved and will be implemented before the race weekend on December 12, which will be the last on the 2021 calendar.

After a lacklustre 2021 season finale, Yas Marina officials are working to revise the track layout, which they say doesn't allow current Formula One cars to race effectively. As a spectacular venue, the Yas Marina Circuit has produced many good racing opportunities, but the track layout has been changed to address these issues. Work is due to begin this summer on a review and modification of the circuit, which will focus on three key areas of the circuit.

It was announced at the Abu Dhabi F1 Festival in the United Arab Emirates in early 2007. On June 25th, 2008, the FIA announced the provisional Formula One calendar for 2009, which in December Abu Dhabi was scheduled as the 19th and last race of the season. The first race took place on November 1, 2009 at the Hermann Tilke inspired Yas Marina Circuit.
